PayPoint Romania, in partnership with Mastercard, announces the implementation of a new service dedicated to customers: cash withdrawal directly from PayPoint assisted POS terminals. This service is activated nationwide, in over 14,000 PayPoint partner locations across the country, and is set to be expanded to the entire network, which exceeds 26,000 points of presence, over the next year.

Through this project, PayPoint Romnia and Mastercard aim to facilitate consumer access to cash, promote financial inclusion, and provide banks with an additional cash access solution for their customers via the extensive network of PayPoint Romania assisted POS terminals.

How does the new service work?

The maximum amount that can be withdrawn is 500 lei per transaction. A customer wishing to withdraw cash from an assisted POS terminal in the PayPoint Romania network can request this service from the merchant when making a purchase from the store’s range of products.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Mastercard on this project that facilitates financial inclusion. It starts with real access to essential services, regardless of where you live, and together with Mastercard we are making an important step forward in this direction. Our network is active even in rural areas with fewer than 500 inhabitants, where, in most cases, the nearest ATM is tens of kilometers away. Through technology and strategic partnerships, we remain true to PayPoint Romania’s mission: to offer people simple and secure solutions for their daily payment needs, wherever they are,” Denissa Dumitriu, Chief Commercial and Operations Officer, PayPoint Romania, mentioned.

“We believe in solutions that bring consumers closer to the essential financial services they rely on. Through our collaboration with PayPoint, we offer people greater flexibility in managing their money, through a simple and intuitive option available right where they carry out their everyday activities. It’s a demonstration of how existing infrastructure can be leveraged intelligently, to the benefit of everyone – customers, merchants, and financial institutions,” Cosmin Vladimirescu, General Manager Mastercard Romania and Croatia, added.

Thus, PayPoint Romania continues to strengthen its partnerships with financial institutions, offering innovative solutions that meet the current market needs and contribute to expanding access to essential services for the population. By diversifying its service portfolio and developing the national infrastructure of assisted POS terminals, PayPoint Romania supports the digitalization and modernization of the financial sector, while also facilitating a fast, convenient, and secure experience for end users, regardless of their location.
